About Lawyer
Martina Sagermann is Quality Counsel & Litigation Counsel at the Toronto office, having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers as an articling student in 2017. Her area of practice is insurance defense litigation.
Martina received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development from the University of Guelph. Her Bachelor of Arts degree included a specialization in Environmental Issues, and a Minor in German.
She went on to obtain her J.D from the University of Ottawa in 2017, where she also completed the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Professionalism Study Option. Martina was called to the bar in 2018. While studying law at the University of Ottawa, Martina also worked for the Legal Writing Academy, and competed in multiple negotiation competitions.
Prior to articling with Aviva Trial Lawyers, Martina acquired work experience in both family and securities law. Martina has appeared at various levels of court such as the Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court. Martina has had carriage over, or assisted with, files concerning motor vehicle accidents, property damage, medical malpractice and human rights issues.
Personal Interests
In addition to practicing law, Martina enjoys spending time with her poorly behaved horse, running, playing soccer, playing the piano, and generally spending as many hours as possible outdoors.
