About Lawyer
Nick Kostiw is a Litigation Counsel at the Toronto office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in 2022. Prior to this he worked at a top plaintiff side personal injury firm on Bay Street. His exposure to both sides of litigation has provided him with invaluable insight, which has proven to be beneficial when defending insurers. His area of practice is insurance defence litigation. Nick graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario, completing an Honors Double Major in History and Criminology. In that span he was the recipient of multiple achievement-based awards and scholarships including the History Academic Award, dedicated to the graduating student with the highest average in their discipline. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University in 2021 and was called to the bar in 2022. In law school, as part of Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Law Project, Nick served as a legal aid caseworker, where he worked on divorce files from beginning to end. He also regularly attended the Kington Family Court where he assisted duty counsel. Today, Nick regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice.
Personal Interests
Nick’s personal interests include backpacking around the world and talking hockey on his hockey podcast.
